She was born in 1986 in Humenné. In 2010 she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Faculty of Graphics.
Since 2011, she has been a member of the Union of Polish Artists and Designers. She participates in many individual and collective exhibitions, symposia and plein airs. Her works are in collections in Slovakia and especially abroad. She works in the technique of oil painting on canvas. She lives and works in her native Udavske in eastern Slovakia.
Anka Jagodová enrolled in the Painting Studio, which I lead at the Faculty of Graphic Arts, in her second year of study. From the beginning, she was a very conscientious, hardworking and modest student. She constantly and humbly improved her painting talent. It was not sudden, revolutionary discoveries or a convulsive manifesto, but scrupulous and consistent work with artistic means, which was subordinated to the influence of a penetrating observation of nature and a thorough study attitude. The same thing happened in the Drawing Studio of Prof. Janusz Karwacký, who praised Anka for her original solutions to drawings, sensitivity and strong commitment at the end-of-year exhibitions. Anna Jagodová's paintings are permeated with a light atmosphere of a dream and a surrealistic or purely poetic connection of things, fruits, animals and people.
Her creative intuition and imagination appear discreet and unobtrusive, but at the same time allow the young artist to transcend her own realism. I observe with great satisfaction how Anka prepares and thinks over each subsequent motif for a long time, how she consciously, but at the same time carefully, decides to realize a work, the final effect of which becomes the crystalline purity of the composition, the play of colors and a suggestive expression radiating peace and beauty of the world as it is in its natural essence. All this, thanks to inner passion, harmony of inner silence and an exceptional ability to concentrate and concentrate for longer periods of time…”
